Immediately following the Fellowship time after the service, the 2012 Annual General Vestry Meeting will be held. This is a "must attend" meeting for all parishioners. This meeting sets in motion the church's agenda for the New Year. The agenda includes analysis of our financial status for the year, appointment and election of church officers and review of events for the year. All parishioners are requested to attend the service and stay for the AGVM. Bring a lunch to energize yourself for the AGVM.

On a sadder note, Emile Gariepy passed away on Wednesday, January 24. May he rest in peace.

Bob's Flying Club takes flight for the New Year on Monday January 30 at 5:30pm. The Men's Blble Study is on Wednesday February 1 at 9:30am.

Next Sunday, February 5 is Black History Sunday at St. Josephs. The Devotional time will start at 9:45am with a Congregational Sing-along followed at 10:00am with a Black History Service led by Pastor Belle. Musical arrangements by Faustina Carbonneau and Easy Worship projection by Paul Yaxley. The speaker will be Sonia Barnes-Huggins who will give a presentation of Black History in Quebec. Following the service, Annette Candlish, Herma Demers and Beverley Cohen-Millar will host a Fellowship time serving coffee, tea and Caribbean cakes. All are welcome.

C.I. Petros, Treasurer & Fundscrip co-ordinator has agreed to one more attempt to make fundscrip a viable income generator for our church.Although it started out bringing in over 130$ per month, income dropped to a low of 64$ in November and even lower in December. Because of timing, we did not have a fundscrip sale in January, however we will have one on Sunday February 5. Fundscrip merchant card order forms are on the table in the Fellowship area. Completed forms along with payment must be given to C.I.Petros no later than Sunday noon, February 5. Your purchase of prepaid Fundscrip merchant cards yields between 3 to 5% of the card value to the church. We all have to buy groceries, gasoline, household supplies and gifts. Your purchase of prepaid merchant cards is an easy and painfree way of donating a little bit extra to your church.

In addition to the Black History Service on February 5, other events in February include Movie Nite on February 18 at 7:00pm, featuring the highly acclaimed Christian film Courageous. The Men's Bible Study Annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper is on Tuesday February 21 at 5:30pm. tiockets are 6$ for adults and 4$ for children under 12.
On Wednesday, February 22 a Service of Imposition of Ashes will be held at 7:00pm.

From "The Daily Bread" for Friday, January, 27: "HIDDEN IN THE ROCK". The Lord is my rock and fortress - Psalm 18:2. The narrative tells the story of the writing of the hymn "Rock of Ages" by Augustus Toplady in 1775. It is an inspirational story of not standing out in life's storms alone. Get close to the Rock of Ages, it's lifes safest spot.

When the world around you is crumbling,

God is the rock on which you can stand.

God Bless everyone,

Robert

Our History

In 1965, we began to serve the community of Brossard and its environs, as a "grass roots" faith group in the home of Allan and Connie Bridgeman. We believe that the Holy Bible is God's inspired word and that it is the ultimate source of guidance and authority.

In the present day, St Joseph provides new members with a family size church and a functioning Sunday School and Music Ministry. Having said this we are constantly looking for ways to update the building and grow the church. If you are interested in finding your first church family or a new group of people to worship with, we welcome you with open arms. Please join us any Sunday at 10:00 A.M.. See the contact page for a map and number to phone. We promise we will get back to you!
